Lee Elmore Announces Retirement from North Coast Health

NCH LogoDear Friends and Colleagues,Lee Elmore

It has been my honor and privilege to work for and with North Coast Health for the last twenty-five years following four years as a volunteer.  These years have been some of the most enriching and life-changing times for me personally and professionally.  I have had the privilege of working for a visionary board of directors and leading a dedicated and hard-working staff and volunteers.   I shall miss the friendships that were built as we worked together to make North Coast Health one of the strongest free and charitable clinics in Ohio.

On a personal note, I am part of a wonderful family that has grown closer and worked through change that includes sadness such as losing parents and joys including weddings and especially the joy of becoming “Granny”.

As Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” and I feel called to move to a new season of life.  Therefore, I plan to retire from my position as Executive Director of North Coast Health as of December 31, 2015.  I am looking forward to spending time with my family and learning what retirement means to me and my family.

I can say with all confidence that North Coast Health will continue to do amazing work in our community with a talented staff and led by a strong board of directors dedicated to our mission.  North Coast Health became the first Ohio free clinic to become a Patient-Centered Medical Home, level 3 as recognized by National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA).  In 2015 North Coast Health received its third consecutive 4-star rating (the highest possible) for sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency from Charity Navigator, the largest evaluator of charities. NCH continues to participate in Better Health Partnership and remains dedicated to quality care.   Please be assured that I will work with the Board and Staff to ensure a smooth transition in leadership.

It may seem to some that this is a time of great change in healthcare today but since inception North Coast Health, a faith-based charitable clinic, has always been patient-centered and believes that all lives are valuable.  The defining values of Faith, Compassion, Excellence, Teamwork and Stewardship are strong and intact to guide all the healthcare services we provide.  So many have entrusted us with their time, talent and treasure and it is a joy to watch the Lord at work in all who have touched North Coast Health including those who have depended on us for their care.  I continue to learn everyday how to rejoice in the amazing work of North Coast Health and all the Lord has entrusted to us to serve His people.  I will take great joy in watching the new and exciting ways that the Board and Staff continue to “stand in the gap” for those in need in our community.

It is also exciting to share with you that the Board of Directors has hired a new person to assume the leadership of North Coast Health in January 2016 and I know everyone will be pleased.  I also trust that you will continue to support North Coast Health and the leadership team in the way that you have supported us over these past years.  Please do not hesitate to call me with any questions that you may have. Thank you for your support, guidance and friendship.  I am very grateful for these last twenty-nine years and all that we have accomplished together.  I look forward to the next adventures for North Coast Health and for me and my family.

With sincere gratitude,

Lee E. Elmore
Executive Director
