Bay Police: Neighbors Looking Out for Neighbors

Bay Police report that on Dec. 4 a a resident in the 28000 of Knickerbocker called Bay Police to report a truck had backed into her neighbor’s driveway and two males walked down the driveway.  The neighbor knew that no one was home at the time, and felt it was suspicious.  The truck was gone when officers arrived on scene, but they located it a short time later.  The men were delivering an appliance and went to the wrong house by accident.  BVPD reminds resident to please call immediately if you observe any suspicious activity.

In another instance, also on Dec. 4, a motorist called Bay Police to report she was following a possible OVI eastbound on Lake Rd. near Columbia.  Officers located the vehicle and stopped it on Lake Rd. near Fordham.  After speaking with the driver, officers suspected the driver had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the 40 yoa North Ridgeville resident was arrested for OVI.  He will face charges at RRMC.

Fraud Investigation

On 12/03/2015, at 1539 hrs, a male called BVPD to report a resident in the 27000 block of Knickerbocker had defrauded him out of almost $1,500 over the last six months in a scam involving a prize.  Police are investigating.

Gift Cards Taken

On /12/03/2015, at 2118 hrs, a CVS employee called to report two males had entered the store and stolen a stack of un-activated gift cards.  They then left the area in a dark colored sedan.  Police checked the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.  Police are investigating.
