On 01/22/2016, at 0030 hrs, Westlake Police contacted Bay Village Police and reported they were on the phone with a motorist who was behind a possible impaired driver on Clague Rd. The suspect vehicle pulled in Reese Park and parked. BVPD officers located the occupied vehicle in the park, and spoke with the female driver. After speaking with her, officers suspected she had been drinking. Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the 38 yoa female was arrested for OVI. The Avon Lake resident will face charges at RRMC.
Better Safe than Sorry
On 01/14/2016, at 0120 hrs, a resident in the 26000 block of Lake Rd. called BVPD to report there was a car parked in his neighbor’s driveway that shouldn’t be there, and his neighbor was out of town. There were also lights on in the house that were not on earlier in the night. Responding officer’s made contact with the owner of the vehicle. It was discovered that he was the cleaner for the homeowner, and had come to the house to clean. BVPD reminds resident to please call when you see any suspicious activity.
On 01/15/2016, at 0124 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Wolf Rd. near Forest View for a traffic violation. After speaking with the driver, the officer suspected there were drugs in the car, and a probable cause search was conducted. The search revealed drug paraphernalia hidden in the vehicle. The 16 yoa female driver admitted the items were hers. See was cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The driver, and the three other juvenile occupants were also cited for violation Curfew. They will all face charges a CCJC.
On 01/16/2016, at 1555 hrs, a resident reported the doors to a business in the 27000 block Knickerbocker were not secured, and there was no one around. As officers were checking the inside of the building, a realtor arrived on scene and said she just ran out for a few minutes, and neglected to lock the doors. She was advised to lock the doors when the building was unoccupied.
On 01/21/2016, at 0036 hrs, a Pellett Drive resident called to report someone was knocking on her door. Officers checked the exterior of the house and surrounding area but were unable to locate anyone.
