Congratulations to Jessica Sagert the $100,000 Grand Prize Winner!
The 12th annual Straight from the Heart Red Tie Gala supporting the Regional Hospitals of the Cleveland Clinic Western Region was a hit on Valentine’s weekend, Feb. 13, at LaCentre in Westlake.
500 guests decked out in red ties, tuxes and red gowns danced the night away as a countdown of 40 exciting raffle prizes were called out, leading up to the grand prize check of $100,000.
The winner was Cleveland Clinic employee Jessica Sagert, who was at home playing board games with her family when the call came to inform her that the raffle ticket she purchased simply to support a good cause came up big!

“We would like to express heartfelt thanks to the Straight from the Heart Executive Committee and the Community West Foundation for all of their hard work and support,” said Anthony Vlastaris, MD, Regional Medical Director, Cardiovascular Services. “Proceeds from tonight’s event support the Regional Heart Centers and provide the most comprehensive resources available for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart disease.”
Gwen Print, RN, MSN, Regional Senior Director, Cardiovascular Services, shared that event resources benefit a number of important programs. Last year funds were used to develop the First Annual Youth MOVment Contest among schools, Early Heart Attack Care Education, Renovation of Pulmonary Rehab Room, Development of program for CHF patients for medication compliance, Automated CPR Machine for Fairview Hospital Emergency Dept., and an AED for the Fitness Center at Lutheran Hospital.
“In partnership with each other and with the Cleveland Clinic, our hospitals continue to share best practices and resources to ensure excellence in our programs and cardiac outcomes,” said Dr. Vlastaris. “Taking excellent care of our patients is our number one priority.”
