Avon High School Wind Ensemble Qualifies for State-Level Competition

The Avon High School Concert Bands performed in their annual evaluation at the OMEA (Ohio Music Education Association) District 4 Adjudicated event this past weekend at Westlake High School. Below are some results:

-The Symphonic Band received a II rating overall (Excellent) and received a I (Superior-highest) in Sight-Reading (playing a piece of music on the spot for the first time).

-The Wind Ensemble received all Superior ratings in Class A, qualifying for State-Level competition. This is only the second time Wind Ensemble has qualified for state at the Class A level (they have done this a few times at the Class B level), and the first time receiving all Superior ratings.

-Wind Ensemble will be performing at their state-level event the weekend of April 22-23. The exact date and time is yet to be determined by the event coordinators, but the performance will be at North Royalton High School.
