Bay Library Will NOT Move to Huntington Metroparks

Cuyahoga County Public Library is sending a message to cardholders this afternoon that a new Bay Village Branch will NOT be constructed in Huntington Reservation of Cleveland Metroparks.

Here is the message:CuyahogaLibrary

Over the past several months, Cuyahoga County Public Library and Cleveland Metroparks have communicated in earnest with Bay Village residents regarding an opportunity for our two regional organizations to collaborate on a unique project in the Huntington Reservation. Through our conversations, leadership of both agencies have determined that we will not relocate the Bay Village branch of the Library to the Huntington campus.

Cuyahoga County Public Library is committed to supporting residents’ aspirations for library service and exceeding expectations. With new library projects recently announced in Middleburg Heights and Berea, Bay Village remains the only branch community in the Cuyahoga County Public Library system without a major capital improvement since the early 2000’s.

Our analysis of the current facility, community feedback and library best practices indicates that a branch replacement project would most fully address our customers’ interests and needs related to high quality children’s space, quiet study areas, community meeting rooms, and more. The CCPL Board of Trustees has funding set aside to complete a project in Bay Village; however, the Library’s ability to enter into such a project is contingent upon finding a suitable location. While the Library will continue to explore opportunities in Bay Village, at this point in time we do not have any active prospects to report.

The Library will be in touch should there be any Bay Village Branch updates to share.

Thank you for your interest in Cuyahoga County Public Library.
