The sale means that the landmark facility will remain in local hands. “We are excited to have acquired such an iconic property in the city of Westlake to soon become our World Headquarters,” reports Chris Haas, President & CEO, All-Pro Freight Systems.
“We are well known through the Western Suburbs with All Pro Freight Stadium, and this property will add to our visibility and ability to better serve the community’s transportation and warehousing needs. We look forward to adding many jobs and opportunities for this great community.”
The classic country-style building was erected in the 70’s by noted Bonne Bell president, the late Jess Bell, who needed more room for operations apart from their Georgetown Row corporate headquarters in Lakewood.
A physical fitness devotee and noted distance runner, Bell incentivized exercise among his employees by building a 1-½ mile running track through the wooded perimeter of the property. Bell would mark his birthday each year by running a mile for every year of his life in personalized ultramarathons. His devotion to fitness was a precursor to today’s corporate wellness initiatives. His track was well utilized by the community over the years, and area cross country teams would run there and host youth meets.
Now, as All-Pro Freight makes the facility home, local ownership of this distinct property will remain in the West Shore area.
