It was another successful State Representative Nan Baker 9th Annual Pancake Breakfast at the Umerley Civic Center in Rocky River on Sunday, October 16th.
The event carries on a tradition started by founder Jim Petro. The honorable Mr. Petro began this tradition in 1996, making Sunday’s event its 30th anniversary year. The honorable U.S. Senator George V. Voinovich was given special recognition for his 46 years of public service at the breakfast. “He attended many breakfasts over the years and will be truly missed. He was there in spirit,” said Rep. Baker.
“Our ambassadors greeting our guests of over 300 included Rocky River Mayor Pam Bobst, Westlake Mayor Dennis Clough and Bay Village Mayor Gary Ebert,” added Baker. The red, white & blue decorated room was filled with music, laughter and conversation. As in the past, many Republican elected officials and candidates attended this year’s breakfast. In attendance were U.S. Congressman Jim Renacci, Lieutenant Governor Mary Taylor, Secretary of State Jon Husted, Candidates for the Ohio Supreme Court Pat Fischer and Pat DeWine.
Also attending were Congressional Candidates Don Larson and Beverly Goldstein along with Candidate Matt Dolan for State Senator and Cuyahoga County Council Member Dave Greenspan, a Candidate for State Representative.
Also joining in was Cuyahoga County Council member Jack Schron, and Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Judges Janet Rath Colaluca, Matthew McMonagle, Kathleen Sutula, James Cochran and Joan Synenberg, all on the ballot November 8th. Along with our current judges, candidate for Court of Common Pleas Donna Coury was also in attendance. Many local council members and school board members were in attendance too.
“It was a great way to for everyone to get to know who their candidates are on the ballot this year and have a casual conversation with them one-on-one,” said Baker. It was another successful pancake breakfast in Rocky River.
