On a summer-like evening over 500 guests enjoyed this North Coast Rotary Club sponsored event at the Avon Lake High School Commons. This event was emceed by Rotarian James Miller, and while diners sampled pizza and voted on their favorites, children had their faces painted and played Putt-out-Polio. Two ALHS key administrators served as the mystery diners to select the Pro’s Personal Choice Pizza winner.
Rotarians ran the show with the help of two youth service organizations, the ALHS Key Club who prepared and cleared tables and the Northcoast Interact Club who served drinks and desserts (compliments of Sprenger Healthcare), painted faces and ran the Putt-Out for Polio putting green.
Diners sampled pizza from six vendors including Coleone’s, Domino’s, Doughboy’s, Pizza Hut, Romeo’s and Zeppe’s. And the winners are: Coleone’s Pizza voted People’s Choice: Doughboy’s voted Best Specialty Pizza and winning the Pro’s Personal Choice; and Romeo’s voted Best Pepperoni Pizza.
The North Coast Rotary Club thanks our community who by participating contributes to this event’s success, the Avon Lake High School, our club and event sponsors, our dedicated pizza vendors, Sprenger Healthcare, the ALHS Key Club, and the Northcoast Interact Club.
These charity fund-raisers benefit the Rotary Club’s local Foundation which provides scholarships and support for many youth and service initiatives in the four communities that this club serves.
Pizza lovers can look forward to North Coast Rotary Club’s first ever Brookside Pizza Bake-Off which will be held October 27th at Brookside High School.
