Bay Village Police report that a Bay Village man surprised a prowler going through his car “Looking for food.” The incident took place on 10/26/2016, at 0433 hrs, after a resident on Cowles Drive called to say when he went outside 10 minutes earlier to let his dog in, he found a black male, wearing a hoodie and black jeans, going through his unlocked car. After stating that he was looking for food the male ran northbound. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the suspect. A report was taken.
Car Stolen and Torched
On 10/26/2016, at 1017 hrs, a resident in the area of Osborn Rd near Cowles Drive, called to report his 2013 black Ford Flex was missing from his driveway. The owner was unsure if it was locked and did not know where the second set of keys were. A report was taken. On 10/20/2016, at 0229 hrs, East Cleveland Police recovered the vehicle. It had been burned up in a house/vehicle fire.
On 10/28/2016, at 0205 hrs, an officer on routine patrol stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Lake and Columbia Roads. A Probable Cause search of the vehicle was conducted, during which, a baggie full of marijuana and two grinders were located. The 20-year-old driver from North Olmsted was issued a ticket for Display of Plates and the 20-year-old passenger from Rocky River was issued citations for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
On 10/28/2016, at 0018 hrs, an officer attempted to stop a gray Pontiac G6 which was headed east bound on Lake Road at Columbia Road. The Pontiac was doing approximately 70 MPH. The vehicle went through the neighborhoods east of Clague Road and south of Lake Road before eventually getting onto I-90 east bound. When this happened the Bay officers ceased following.
