Congratulations to the Avon Lake Marching Band for earning a top rating at the State Finals! The 130-member band performed on November 5, 2016, at Brunswick High School, and came away with a superior rating, the highest rating a band can earn at State. The band has swept this season with superior ratings at every OMEA marching band contest.
The marching band has competed in OMEA Adjudicated Performances since 2005. The band qualified for state marching band finals in 2005, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2014, 2015, and 2016. This year is the first time the band has earned a superior (top) rating at state marching band finals, having earned excellent ratings in all of the previous state finals performances. This is the first year the band has had a season sweep earning superior ratings at all of the band’s OMEA performances.
