Two Westlake Students Qualify For National Geography Bee State Contest

Lee Burneson Middle School eighth grader Logan Evans and Dover Intermediate School sixth grader Megan Wacker qualified to compete in the state level competition of the National Geographic Bee.

The two qualified for the state Bee by winning their school Bees during oral competition. The Ohio State Bee will be held March 31 at the Fawcett Center in Columbus. This is the second trip to the state contest for Logan.

The champion from each state will qualify to compete in the National Geographic Bee Championship to be held at the National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington, D.C., May 14-17.

The Geography Olympiad was founded in 2012 as a nationwide competition to test the geography skills of American students and to help foster geography education throughout the United States.
