Junior Shawn Walls won Best Delegate and the Gavel Award. Freshman Molly Finucane, sophomore Bekah Hardy and junior Valentina Wolf won Honorable Mentions.
Model UN is an interactive program that brings world affairs alive for students. Through participation in Model UN simulations, students achieve global learning objectives. They learn how to investigate the world, recognize different perspectives, communicate ideas to diverse audiences, and apply what they learn creatively during research, debate and conference time.
The theme of this year’s conference was “The United Nations and World in Conflict.”
WHS Social Studies teacher Travis Haselswerdt advises the group.
