Bay Middle School Teacher Suspended for Suspected Alcohol Use

A representative for Bay Middle School called Bay Village Police to report they suspected one of their employees was under the influence of alcohol at 2:40 p.m. on May 4.  Officers were dispatched to the school, and after speaking with the employee in question, suspected she had been drinking.  After administering sobriety tests, officers arrested the 32 yoa female employee for Disorderly Conduct-Intoxication.  She will face charges at RRMC.POLICE_Bay Village_Disclaimer

“The employee is a teacher who has been placed on administrative leave while the case is under review,” say Bay Schools.

On 05/05/2017, at 0137 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Lake Rd. at Kenmore for a traffic violation.  After speaking with driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the 29 yoa male was arrested for OVI.  The Elyria resident will face charges at RRMC.

On 05/06/2017, at 0210 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Lake Rd. at Pinewood for a traffic violation.  While speaking with the driver, the officer suspected that the underage male occupants had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, two 19 yoa males were arrested for Underage Consumption of Alcohol.  The Avon Lake residents will face charges at RRMC.

Bad Defroster

On 05/06/2017, at 2122 hrs, Avon Lake PD reported a possible OVI eastbound on Walker Rd. in Bay Village.  A BVPD officer located the vehicle on Bradley and spoke with the female driver.  After speaking with her, it was determined that she was not impaired, but she was distracted by a malfunctioning defroster.

On 05/06/2017, at 1644 hrs, a Dover Center resident reported that someone had accessed her Key Bank checking account and withdrew over $400.00.  Police are investigating.
