A reception honoring Floyd Trillis, Jr., MD, for his retirement from 30 years of surgical practice at University Hospitals St. John Medical Center was hosted by the West Shore Osteopathic Foundation at LaCentre in Westlake the evening of June 1.
The Foundation has established The Floyd Trillis, MD, Educational & Research Fund to honor Dr. Trillis for his dedication and nearly 30 years of service in the medical profession and for his work with the Graduate Medical Education program at St. John Medical Center over the years.
Testimonials and tributes to Dr. Trillis were shared by a number of his contemporaries and associates, including John Wolf, DO, President West Shore Osteopathic Foundation, Robert Stern, MD, Medical Staff President UH St. John Medical Center, Dilip Narichania, MD, Dept. of Surgery, Gregory Bloxdorf, DO, Emergency Medicine, and John Rowland, founding President St. John West Shore Hospital, and Robert G. David, President UH St. John Medical Center.
During his career, Dr. Trillis has been an instrumental supporter and clinical faculty member of the UH St. John Medical Center Graduate Medical Education program.
To honor the legacy of Dr. Trillis at UH St. John Medical Center, the West Shore Osteopathic Association has established the Educational & Fund in the name of Dr. Trillis.
Medical students and residents are required to be involved in scientific and clinical research as part of their graduation requirement, and this fund will provide financial support to them.
