The Avon Senior Center provides programs and activities for anyone 55 and over. The center provides a multitude of services, including educational seminars, health screenings, trips, social events and transportation to serve the approximately 5,000 senior adults in Avon and surrounding communities.

We offer activities and programs for the Bay Boomers and older adults. We strive to provide a variety of programming focusing on mind, body, and spirit. There is something for everybody. Evening activities are scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturdays. Feel free to drop in and check out what is happening. Come for any activity that interests you, or just stop by for a cup of coffee and to read the paper, work on the computer, watch TV, work on a puzzle, or just talk with friends.

The Fairview Park Senior Center is one of the hidden gems of our city. Located directly behind City Hall, the 10,000 square foot building has been the home of the Senior Life Department since 2000. The Senior Center, under the direction of Regina Sillasen and her dedicated and caring staff, is open weekdays to assist seniors 55 and older. Our staff includes a social worker available to assist Fairview Park residents with questions and concerns.
The Senior Center offers something for everyone: A large dining room where lunch is served on Thursdays and Fridays • A computer lab equipped with 10 internet-accessible computers and a printer • A billiards room with two pool tables and all accessories • A charming gift shop selling affordable treasures • An audio/visual room equipped with large screen TV and Wii • An activity/craft room for exercise and art classes
Various programs and events to cover a wide range of interests, including: • Free computer training offered by our dedicated volunteer instructors, as well as several computer-oriented groups (Northeast Ohio PC, Computer Fundamentals, digital photography class, e-Bay class, to name a few) • A fantastic choir always looking for new members • Monthly Medicare counseling by the Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program • Free legal consultation monthly with Harold Hom • Free tax preparation by AARP during tax season • Quarterly dances with live entertainment • Blood glucose and blood pressures offered by FGH wellness nurses • Exercise classes including SilverSneakers Classic and Yoga, and Exercise with Dee • Card playing including bridge every Wednesday • Lively sing-a-longs around the piano every Friday • Book discussion group lead by Fairview Park Public Library staff members • Art classes (Mixed Media Art) • Discussion Groups • Educational presentations • Movie of the week • Knitting Circle • Lunch and Learns • Treasure Shoppe (rummage sale) • And of course, BINGO!
We also have two wheelchair accessible vans which enable us to offer transportation to appointments and shopping for Fairview Park’s senior residents.

The Division of Aging was established in 1973 to provide a continuum of responsive services to Lakewood’s older residents. Programs and services evolved through the years, contributing to the Lakewood Division of Aging becoming one of the largest municipal aging programs in Ohio.
The Division underwent some reorganization in 2008 with changes in programs and services. However, the primary goal of the Division’s core programs remains the same: enabling older residents to stay safely in their homes and community while sustaining a quality of life that is both meaningful and productive. This is a accomplished through administration of service programs in five core areas: Nutrition services; Transportation services; Social work and supportive services; Center activities and programs; Volunteer program

Rocky River Senior Center

The mission of the Rocky River Senior Center is to positively impact our community by creating opportunities for healthy aging through social engagement, physical well-being, civic involvement and lifelong learning.
A licensed social worker is available to senior residents who are in need of services and/or information. A transportation service operates weekdays between 8 AM – 4 PM for medical appointments, local shopping and personal errands for seniors who are unable to drive (sometimes temporarily). A wheelchair lift van is also available.
The Center offers a variety of services and activities including one day and overnight tours, deli luncheons, monthly luncheons and programs, and special events featuring prominent speakers, entertainers and musicians. A wide range of classes offered include a variety of art classes, ceramics, language classes, exercise classes, informational classes, dance classes, travelogues and golf leagues. Health screenings and a Monday health clinic are available to complete the resources for seniors.
Westlake Senior Center

The Community Services Department offers programs and activities to enrich the lives of the 50 plus population at Westlake Center and provides a system of social services for Westlake residents of all ages. A variety of social, educational and recreational activities are offered as well as health screenings.
The social service staff of the department serves as a resource for information, emergency food for qualified Westlake residents, discount program applications and offers a daily safety phone check and transportation for older and disabled adults.
