Avon Fishing Derby is a Hit!

Nothing says summer like a good, old-fashioned Fishing Derby!

The Avon Lion’s Club renewed this warm-weather tradition with its annual Avon Lions Club Fishing Derby at Northgate Park the morning of June 9. The lake was stocked by the Rec Dept. and the fish were biting as kids and their parents baited hooks and lined the pond – all hoping to land the big one! Prizes were offered for the largest catch in a number of kid categories, and breakfast as well as goodie bags and even bait were provided! Thank you to the Lions Club and the many community sponsors who made this summer event possible again this year!
