Avon Hosts 3rd Annual Patriotic Bike Parade

Showing our colors! The 3rd annual Great Avon Bike Parade July 4th.

The 3rd annual Great Avon Bike Parade was a hit July 4th morning as several hundred kids and their families gathered at the Aquatic Center park for a patriotic ride to celebrate our nation’s birthday.

All were welcome to decorate their bikes, trikes, wagons and scooters to help celebrate America. Grand Parade Marshall was Breanna Sprenger, who was presented a yellow jersey by Mayor Bryan Jensen at the start of the parade. Breanna is a Team USA Paralympic Swimmer. Councilwoman Tammy Holtzmeier welcomed riders, and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by the Kerry and Janet Barvincak family.

The short, safe one-mile parade saw kids line up with police and fire escorts as they looped through the park across Detroit Road to the UH Center and returned to the park as Mayor Jensen distributed passes to the Avon Aquatic Center.
