In 1991 the City of Westlake’s Mayor Dennis Clough and our founding sponsor, University Hospitals St. John Medical Center, agreed to host a five-mile charity run in Westlake, Ohio. Since 1991, Celebrate Westlake has raised over 1.4 million dollars for local charities such as Westlake D.A.R.E., Far West Center, Westlake Dept. of Senior & Community Services, SJMC Community Outreach and Wellness Ministry program, University Hospitals Woman’s Health Center, Westlake Porter Public Library, and more.
The busy schedule for the popular event includes 5 Mile Adult Run, 5K Adult Run/Walk, Kids’ Fun Dash’s and activities as well as a Health and Fitness Expo.
