Westlake Aggravated Robbery Suspect Arrested

Westlake Police have apprehended a suspect in the aggravated robbery that took place at a Detroit Road convenience store this week.

“With the assistance of several public and law enforcement partner tips, the Westlake Police Dept. was able to identify the robbery suspect from the Friday 10/12/18 incident at the Convenient on Detroit at Dover Center Rds,” report Police.

The investigation and tips led to the arrest of Mousa H. Abukhalil, a 29 yo from Lakewood. On Monday 10/15/18 at approx. 7:19PM Abukhalil was located at East 61st St and Superior Ave in Cleveland and taken into custody without incident. He made his initial appearance at Rocky River Municipal Court on 10/17 and his case has been bound over to the Cuyahoga County Grand Jury. Mr. Abukhalil is still in custody and his bond is set at $250,000 cash or surety. Thanks to the public and media for the assistance in solving this case.

As of 10/18/18 at 3PM, The Westlake PD, with assistance of the Lakewood PD is serving a search warrant at a residence on Clifton Blvd in furtherance of this case.
