Bearden’s Celebrates 70 Years with 70 Cent Burgers

Burger Blast at Bearden’s! Lines were out the door and down the street as Bearden’s – Rocky River’s iconic 50’s burger & shake headquarters – celebrated its 70th anniversary with 70 cent burgers last Friday.

Opened in 1948, Bearden’s has never faltered in its tried and true mission of delivering the best grilled burger, onion rings and shakes around. Diners also enjoy the electric train with the stuffed bear in the conductor’s seat that encircles the dining room.

Everything about Bearden’s is a blast from the past, still fashioning fresh made burgers on a hot and steamy grill in the busy kitchen.

Bearden’s was originally called Jackson Limited and opened in 1934 in Rocky River. In 1948, as a joint venture between Ross Bearden and the Orange brothers, Bill and James; Bearden’s was started. Joe Orange and his family owned and operated Bearden’s until 2010 when it was closed. In 2011 Jim Griffiths and his team purchased Bearden’s. After months of renovations Bearden’s reopened in October of 2011 with a new 50’s diner feel, but still serving the same great Bearden’s fare.

One recent addition – Bearden’s now has a food truck!
