Party of the Century! Ruth Thurber Celebrates 100th!

It was the Party of the Century at The Normandy Senior Living’s Breakwater Apartments on Nov. 28th as longtime resident Ruth Thurber celebrated her 100th birthday!

The brand-new pub at the Breakwater was jumping with Roaring 20’s joy as residents, family and friends packed the place in celebration of Ruth’s milestone. They even had $100 dollar bills with Ruth’s picture in the middle printed up!

A lifelong resident of Rocky River, Ruth happily greeted one and all at each table as well-known keyboard artist Gary Ryan provided the musical accompaniment. Adding to the fun, a poster board of the headlines from her birth year was also displayed, “Ohio to Ratify U.S. Dry Amendment,” was the big news, telling about the law that set the stage for prohibition! Happy birthday, Ruth – Let’s get this party started!
