Saint Bernadette School Annual Open House is Sunday, January 27

Saint Bernadette School in Westlake will be hosting their annual Open House for new families interested in enrollment (Preschool through Grade Eight) for the 2019-2020 school year on Sunday, January 27 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Families will have an opportunity to meet the administration, faculty, staff and students and learn about our faith based mission and academically rigorous curriculum. Parents and Student Council will also be on-hand to give personal tours of our beautiful 25-acre campus and share the good news of our faith-filled community. There will be an Art Show, Science Fair, Technology and STEM demonstrations, Choir and Band performances, visits to the classrooms, extra-curricular presentations, refreshments, plus fun family activities for all ages.

January 27 also marks the kick-off of Catholic Schools Week. Each year, Saint Bernadette School joins close to 6,500 Catholic Schools around the country to celebrate Catholic education. The theme for this year’s Catholic Schools Week is “Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.” These are the #1 areas Saint Bernadette School focuses on everyday throughout the school year. Throughout the week of January 27 through February 2, our students, parents, faculty, and staff will participate in activities that focus on this year’s Catholic Schools Week theme; “Learn, Serve, Lead, Succeed.” Many educational and exciting events are planned.

Saint Bernadette School Catholic Schools Week Schedule of Events 2019

“Through Christ We Can” (All Week) – All week students will engage in prayer and activities highlighting our school theme and the theme of each day.

Through Christ We Can Serve (Mon., Jan. 28) – All students will attend an assembly on the book “The Whole Human Race.” A representative from Labre will speak to the students about its work and how the students can help. Students will bring in items for people in need all week.

Through Christ We are Grateful (Tues., Jan. 29) – Students in grades K-3 will have a picnic lunch with their families in the school gym and complete a family mission project. Grades 4-8 will use technology to create their own family mission statement. All School Bingo.

Through Christ We Belong (Wed., Jan 30) – Veteran Assembly, thanking all of the veterans from or connected to the St. Bernadette community. Volleyball game.

Through Christ We are Called (Thurs., Jan 31) – Various speakers from different Catholic organizations will come and speak to the students about service and living the faith day by day.

I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me (Fri., Feb. 1) – Teaching Mass, Matt Fafrak will speak to the students and lead them in praise and worship songs.
