Rocky River Middle School eighth grader Martha Kolpien did an exceptional job representing the District at the Cuyahoga County Scripps National Spelling Bee on Saturday (Feb. 23) at the Cuyahoga County Community College auditorium.
Kolpien spelled words correctly through nine rounds to finish among the top-10 spellers at the prestigious competition.
Some of her words included “foist”, “catkin” and “gregarious.”
