In Honor of the 77th Anniversary of the first K-9 Unit, Gardens at Westlake Senior Living had a visit from the Westlake Police K-9 Unit last week. Residents, their families and the outside community were invited to watch a demonstration and learn about Westlake’s K-9 officers. Residents truly enjoyed this visit and were amazed by the dedication and round-the-clock diligence these officers and K-9 officers bring to community safety.

- Gardens at Westlake Senior Living honored the 77th anniversary of the nation’s first K-9 Corps by inviting members of the Westlake Police Department K-9 Unit for a demonstration last week. Ptl. JP Toth is the handler of K9 Timmy. The “bad guy” is played by Ptl. Josh Frey.

- The Westlake Police K-9 Unit has been in existence for more than 19 years. The current unit was formed through the support of the community, and generous donations by the Kiwanis Club.
