Healthy Smile: Changes……..

Changes…. This is what springtime is all about – changes in our weather, changes in our housekeeping, changes in the way we look at life in general. Changes are good as it helps us to revitalize. And, as we all know, the only thing that is constant is change.

We, too, at Drs. Gross, Malcmacher, Thaler and Associates, doing business as The Healthy Smile, are experiencing some changes that are new and exciting, while still providing you with the comfort of your familiar staff. We have new thoughts, new techniques and new ideas that we are anxious to share with you. We are making changes that will enhance our well-established office in order to benefit our patients of many years and all of the new patients we welcome on a regular basis.

We will be sharing information through articles in The Villager with you about our new associate, Dr Shelly Haas. You will appreciate her enthusiasm, light touch and her commitment to the best in your dental care.

Also, in these upcoming issues, you will be hearing more from and about Dr. Jeffrey Gross, our senior partner and one of the founding fathers of The Healthy Smile. Dr. Gross maintains his practice in Eastlake and Cleveland Heights and teaches at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Gross will be coming to our office in Bay as well. As a Fellow of The Academy of General Dentistry, his unique approach, his skillful hands and his gentle demeanor are just some of the reasons he has an extremely successful dental career. He and Dr. Malcmacher (who many of you have known and loved), have been partners for almost 40 years.

Dr. Louis Malcmacher is extremely busy within the dental community. Although he has been researching, developing and spending his time lecturing throughout the country & globally, he is still a partner and remembers his patients fondly. As a Master of The Academy of General Dentistry, founder and president of The American Academy of Facial Esthetics, a fellow of the International Association of Dental Facial Esthetics and a visiting lecturer at a number of universities, he has taught tens of thousands of healthcare professionals in the areas of smile design esthetics and facial injectable therapy.

Our third partner, Dr. Donald Thaler, has committed his entire dental career to the care of the homebound. With traveling to more than 50 plus nursing homes, in 4 different counties, he has brought dental care to patients in the convenience of the facility where they live. It truly takes a very special dentist and assistant to meet the needs of the homebound and provide the means to insure their dental health and subsequently, their overall health.

You all know our beloved Doreen, our dental assistant for 15 years. She is the one who makes everyone feel comforted and nurtured while she easily assists in every procedure. She makes everyone’s life easier and better just by being around her. Doreen knows dental and is exceptional in her skills.

Tina, our hygienist, has been with us for four years. We are so blessed to have such quality staff. Tina is as gentle as she is informative. Our patients appreciate her ability to help them understand the importance of daily dental care. It is very rewarding to see how her encouragement, techniques and teaching have made a huge difference in our patients’ approach to their dental health and again subsequently to their overall health.

And then there is me, Joyce, the office manager for almost 26 years. When I think back from the day that I started, I still can say that my association with The Healthy Smile has been ingrained into my soul. I so appreciate the relationship that I have with my patients, with my co-workers and with my bosses. I am grateful everyday that I come to work at an office that is filled with professionalism, integrity, profound dental skills and as always, an easy-going, family-like atmosphere.

Since we have new thoughts, new techniques and new ideas we will be sharing all of this with you in future articles. We will keep you posted on our changes – changes for the advancement of all us. The changes we are making, along with the natural changes in springtime gives us a lift and we are excited to include you.

Our continued thanks to our many, faithful patients. You make all of this worthwhile. We are looking forward to getting to know many more of The Villager readers. You have our commitment to bring you the very best in dentistry.
