Normandy Care Center Honors Volunteers

Hundreds of hours are donated annually by good folks who stop by the Normandy Care Center of Rocky River to brighten the days of residents and patients there.

Many times, these volunteers do simple things that make an incredible difference in the lives of those who reside there. These deeds may include decorating the lobby to simply visiting with residents to make their days brighter!

The Normandy Care Center honored volunteers with a luncheon on Sat., April 6. Of special note was the recognition of Rev. William Campbell, who has held services at the Care Center for over 25 years! “His first service, I think he had four people there,” recalled Activities Director Tammy Danilovic. “But over the years, his services just grew and have touched the lives of so many of our people. We are deeply thankful to him and to all the volunteers who mean so much to us.”

Music therapist Joy Parrish, always ready with guitar in hand to share song and verse, opened the luncheon with a poem she composed in 2009 that captures the spirit of volunteerism:
