The Lake Erie Crushers, presented by Mercy Health have captured the Frontier League Eastern Division Title for the first time since 2013. The Crushers defeated the Southern Illinois Miners tonight by a score of 7-3, propelling them into the Frontier League Playoffs.
“It’s great to get back to the post-season”, stated Crushers Manager Cam Roth following the game. “These guys have worked tremendously hard all season, and this is a great accomplishment for those efforts.”
The Crushers will begin their playoff run on the road starting Tuesday, September 3rd although their opponent has yet to be determined. Both rounds of the Frontier League Playoffs are a “best-of-five” format.
The Crushers home playoff schedule will begin Friday, September 6th at 7:05 at Sprenger Stadium. The next two games, if necessary, will be played at Sprenger Stadium Saturday, September 7th at 6:05 PM and Sunday, September 8th also at 6:05 PM. The Championship series would begin Tuesday, September 10th.
