Anne Michael, Education Coordinator, Lorain County Historical Society, will discuss the “Homes and Gardens of 19th Century Elyria” in her program on October 15, 2019, 7 p.m. at the Avon Garden Club meeting.
During this program Ms. Michael will demonstrate, using pictures and descriptions gleaned from The Lorain County Historical Society’s archives, the pride 19th Century Elyrians took in their homes and gardens. The original version of this program was a reading presented by Miss Eva Reefy to the Garden Club of Elyria in 1934. Although the original program has been updated, the current version still maintains much of Ms. Reefy’s very descriptive language.
Avon Garden Club programs are free and open to the public. No reservations are required. The meeting will be held in the Orchid Room at the Miller Nature Preserve at 2739 Center Rd, Avon, OH 44011. Contact Kathy, president of the Avon Garden Club, at (440) 668-3969 with inquiries.
