At the Gardens of Oz: Off to See the Wizard

The Gardens of Oz welcomed one and all to a Halloween extravaganza the afternoon of Saturday, Oct. 26.

Trick or treating took place at resident’s doors from 2-2:30 p.m. throughout the Wizard of Oz-themed building.

A celebration of the 80th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz was elaborately on display through the facility with decorations and stations on the main and upstairs floors. Guest appearances by Dorothy, Toto, the Tin Man, Scarecrow and Lion, Glinda the Good Witch, the Wicked Witch of the West, Auntie Em and, of course, the Wizard of Oz!

Other activities included a children’s coloring contest, decorating candy apple slices, Witches Brew punch, and a resident costume contest.

For all who ventured into the Wizard’s castle, the Gardens of Oz conferred an honorary degree of THD (Doctorate of Philosophy)!
