University Hospitals supports United Way of Greater Cleveland in a big way!
UH St. John Medical Center in Westlake wrapped up its annual basket raffle to raise money for this great cause last week and produced dramatic results.
“We raised over $11,000, which was a substantial increase over 2018’s donations,” explained Cindy Stec, MBA, RN, BSN, Patient Experience Manager.
“Each department comes together as a team to create a themed basket. We all work together to man our week long ticket sales. Our night shift teams helped to extend our ticket sale times, which was a huge contribution to our success.”
Everyone looked forward to the basket raffle drawing that took place last Friday afternoon in the busy UH St. John Main Entrance lobby.
“This is a huge annual celebration! We kicked off basket raffle drawing event with our United Way representative, Daniel Taylor-Shaut, who spoke about how our donations help the families of greater Cleveland,” added Stec.
“$11,186 was raised by the employees of St. John’s Medical Center,” reports Taylor-Shaut. “This amount is over $4,000 more than was raised in last year’s Basket Raffle. The Special Event basket raffle was a part of UH’s United Way campaign, which kicked off on September 23 and runs through December 31.”
Some great gifts were there for the raffle – including large screen high-def TVs and other generous prizes donated by the hospital teams.
