Fairview Park Newest Police Officer Sworn In

On December 2, 2019 prior to the Council Meeting, Mayor Patton swore in a hometown boy as the newest police officer. Kevin McLaughlin grew up in Fairview Park and is a 2008 graduate of Fairview High School, where he was an athlete, playing football, baseball, and basketball. He comes to us from the Cleveland Police department where he has worked since 2018, most recently in the 1st District. Kevin excelled in the pre-hire physical fitness and agility test, as well as all other portions of our rigorous pre-hire process, telling us in his interview that he always wanted to work in the City where he grew up.

Kevin is the 19th police officer that Mayor Patton has sworn in during her twenty year tenure as the Mayor of Fairview Park. More than half of the current roster of officers were hired during that time. (15 of 27). We hope that Kevin has a long and successful career serving the citizens of Fairview Park.
