Avon Lake Tops Westlake in SWC Basketball

Nate Murtaugh (23), Avon Lake and Tyler Koloeouris (11), Westlake

Avon Lake topped Westlake in SWC boys basketball Tuesday night. The decision lifted the Shoremen to 8-3 in the conference and 9-5 overall. Westlake, which earned a win at Avon Lake in December, went to 10-5 and 8-4.

A big first quarter saw the Shoremen grab a 26-14 lead after the first 8 minutes.

A solid season is being built by both teams as they occupy spots in the upper tier of the Southwestern Conference.
