Dozens of grateful community members traveled to Avon Hospital last evening at 7 to observe and take part in a moment of nation recognition for healthcare workers.
Heroes Night brought a generous outpouring of support, including signs, applause, cheers and a parade of police and fire vehicles from the City of Avon.
Dr. Rebecca Starck, President Avon Hospital, was clearly moved by the show of love from the community. “Thank you so much. This means so much to us,” she said to the crowd. “Wear your masks! Stay home!”
It was a chance to give our healthcare workers a 60-second standing ovation. We want to let our first responders and healthcare workers know how much we appreciate their dedication to keeping us safe. Thank you for your support.
