Bay Village Police Report Unlocked Vehicles Entered

Bay Village Police report that a number of unlocked vehicles have been entered recently:

‘On the morning of 04/21/2020, several residents on Aberdeen, East Oviatt, Glen Park, and the 25000 block of Lake Rd. reported their unlocked vehicles were entered overnight and items were taken. BVPD reminds residents to remove valuables from your vehicles and make sure they are locked up.

Jumped the Fence

On 04/21/2020, at 1616 hrs, a resident called to report several juveniles had jumped the fence and entered the closed football stadium at Bay High School. Responding officers located 5 juveniles on the field playing football. They were advised and sent on their way. BVPD reminds residents that the Bay High Stadium is closed until further notice.

OVIs

On 04/22/2020, at 2114 hrs, Westlake PD reported a possible OVI was north bound on Bradley Rd. entering Bay Village. A BVPD officer located the vehicle on Bradley Rd. near Walker and conducted a traffic stop after observing several traffic violations. After speaking with the 48 yoa female driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking. Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the Vermilion resident was arrested for OVI. She will face charges at RRMC.

On 04/24/2020, at 0030 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Sandalwood near Lincolnshire for a traffic violation. After speaking with the 35 yoa male driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking. Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the driver was arrested for OVI. The Rocky River resident will face charges at RRMC.

On 04/25/2020, at 0052 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Wolf Rd. near Lake Forest for a traffic violation. After speaking with the female driver, the officer suspected there was marijuana in the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle turned up a small amount of marijuana, and a loaded handgun. The operator of the vehicle did not have a permit for the weapon. The 30 yoa Cleveland resident was arrested for Improperly Handling a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle. She will face charges at RRMC.
