Avon Spray Ground Opening for Avon Residents

A letter released from Avon Mayor Bryan Jensen announced the opening of the Avon Spray Ground.

“As we continue to try and navigate these uncertain times, I am happy to announce that starting Monday, July 6th, the Spray Ground at the Avon Aquatic Facility will be open daily from 10:30 am – 7:30 pm at no charge.

“Young children to elementary-ages are welcome to enjoy the Spray Ground as long as they are accompanied by an adult. There will be benches available, or you can bring your own chair. Restrooms will be open and cleaned every 2 hours. There will be no monitors, you are responsible for your own children. We expect everyone to practice social distancing and proper hygiene while at the Spray Ground. If we find that rules aren’t being followed or things change regarding the coronavirus, it may be necessary to close the Spray Ground. We will be following this closely.

“The Health Department informed me that opening the pool is a medium risk, but opening the Spray Ground is a minimal risk, which is why I made the decision to open it. I know many people are missing the pool being open this summer, but I hope that residents are able to enjoy the Spray Ground with their young children for the next couple of months.

“There are separate gates for entering and exiting (Gate A – North Gate is entrance only and Gate B is exit only).”
