Westlake Police report on 7/22/20 at approx. 7AM a caller reported that a vehicle struck a pole on Detroit at Clague Rds. The male driver reportedly walked away from the 1 car crash.
Officers arrived to find that no one was around so the registered owner of the vehicle was contacted at their residence in Lakewood. The owner reported that he thought that the Ford Ranger was still parked in his driveway. As Lakewood PD was taking a stolen vehicle report, Westlake Officers began to check the nearby neighborhood for the driver. A resident on Concord called to report that someone had entered his detached garage and even walked into the residence to change clothes. Officers eventually found the 38yo, supposedly homeless male hiding in bushes at another residence on Concord Dr. He was charged with Burglary, breaking and entering, Receiving stolen property, hitskip and driving under suspension. After being arraigned in Rocky River Municipal Court, the man was transferred to the Cuyahoga County Jail.
