Officials of National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced that senior Saint Joseph Academy student Gwen Pierce is a Commended Scholar in the 66th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.
Gwen is actively involved in both academics and extracurricular activities at Saint Joseph Academy. She has already completed four Advanced Placement (AP®) classes, adding three more this year. Gwen is a member of the swimming team and involved in Calliope, Saint Joseph Academy’s literary arts publication. Outside of the Academy, she volunteers at St. Raphael Parish and works as a lifeguard. She attended St. Raphael School in Bay Village and is a parishioner at St. Raphael Parish.
Gwen is undecided on a major. Her top two college choices are Fordham University and Loyola University Chicago. She lives in Bay Village and is the daughter of Mr. Robert and Mrs. Jennifer Pierce. Congratulations, Gwen!
