A group of 6 people entered the BMW dealership on Sperry Road in Westlake this week after breaking a window with a brick and made off with four vehicles.
All four vehicles were found in Cleveland and in all 6 suspects were apprehended. Four are juveniles.
Here is the Police release:
‘On 10/26/20 at approx. 12:35AM officers responded to a break in alarm at the BMW dealership on Sperry Dr.
‘Officers arrived to find that one of the doors had been forcibly entered. Video showed that a total of 6 people entered the dealership after throwing a brick through a window.
‘The group quickly located vehicle keys inside and made off with 4 vehicles.
‘While investigators collected evidence from the building, the vehicles were tracked to Cleveland. WPD detectives, working with Cleveland PD, located 2 of the stolen BMWs in the area of the 1700 block of E32nd St. One of the vehicles was still occupied. The 2 other stolen BMWs were located in the area of E72nd St in Cleveland.
‘In addition, WPD recovered a stolen Audi which had been taken from a resident in Middleburg Hts. The Audi was found with the stolen BMWs and was occupied by 2 juveniles and a loaded handgun.
‘In all 6 persons were arrested and brought back to WPD for processing. The 2 juveniles found in the Audi, 15 and 17 years old, were accepted by the Juvenile Detention Center for charges of carrying a concealed handgun and receiving stolen property. 2 other juveniles found in the stolen cars, ages 14 and 15, were turned over to parents at the Westlake PD. 2 adults, an 18yo Cleveland resident, and a 19yo Garfield Hts resident, were charged with receiving stolen property and were later transported to the Cuyahoga County Jail.
‘Charges for all 6 for breaking and entering will be presented to the county Grand Jury.’
