UH Elyria is the Only Hospital in Lorain County with this Nationally Accredited Breast Cancer Care
The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC,) a quality program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), has granted Three-Year Accreditation to the Hampson Mole Breast Health Suite at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. To achieve voluntary NAPBC accreditation, a breast center demonstrates compliance with the NAPBC standards that examine a center’s leadership, clinical services, research, community outreach, professional education, and quality improvement processes.
As a NAPBC-accredited center, the Hampson Mole Breast Health Suite provides evidence-based, multidisciplinary services focused on high-quality care for patients with breast disease.
Patients receiving care at a NAPBC-accredited center have access to:
- Comprehensive care, including a full range of state-of-the-art services
- A multidisciplinary team approach to coordinate the best treatment options
- Clinical trials and new treatments, genetic counseling, and patient centered services including psycho-social support
- Survivorship care plans that document the care each patient receives, designed to improve all cancer survivors’ quality of life
Additionally, at the Hampson Mole Breast Health Suite, patients receive one-on-one support and guidance from a Certified Breast Nurse Navigator, who is by their side from the time of abnormal imaging through survivorship.
