Austin Norris MVP, Lady Demons Second

Led by stellar performances across the board, the Westlake Boys Track & Field team took home their first invitational win of the year Saturday at the Midview Shipwreck Invitational.

There were a number of first place finishes in all event areas.

-4×200- Shields, Shelby, Del Priore, Alramahi

-4×400- Bowman, Daniel, Alramahi, Del Priore

-4×800 – Eadie, Daniel, Abu-Ukkaz

-1600m- Mueller

Austin Norris, with his two 1st place finishes and two 2nd place finishes was voted MVP of the meet.

A solid team effort across the board for the demons in only their 3rd meet of the year.  A number of underclassmen made large contributions as well as our seniors.

“Guys like Norris, with their experience are always expected to perform well, which is amazing to have dependable guys like that, but it is also rewarding to see some younger guys like Alramahi, Mueller, Arrington Taylor, Shields, Schmidtz, Del Priore, Shelby, as well as other seniors like David Daniel and Matthew Eadie step up in to varsity roles and earn some big points for the team”

Westlake’s girls took runner-up honors @MidviewTrack Inv’l! 1sts by Julia in Discus, Stephanie in 3200, and Sarah in 400 AND 4×400 along w/ Madison, Claire, & Mia! Sarah also takes 2nd’s in 100 & 4×100, joining Claire, Coletta, & Kylie! Fantastic job tonight, ladies!

Great performances, too, by Holly & Michelle in the 100&300H, Macey & Arianna in the throws, Annika & M.E. In the jumps, & Grace, Olivia, Ashley, and Alexa in the 4×800, 800, & 1600!
