Bay Village will celebrate the long-awaited Home of the Rockets groundbreaking event Monday, May 3, at 5:30 p.m. at Bay Memorial Stadium. Here’s the story from homeoftherockets.org/
The events marks the culmination of a long and dedicated fundraising campaign for the benefit of the Bay Village community, student-athletes, and guests.
Home of the Rockets
WE DID IT. TOGETHER.
Take a bow, One Rocket Nation. After twelve months of fundraising, “Home of the Rockets” has raised the funds to construct a new building in our stadium. Primarily through donations from local families, civic groups and small businesses, our community has raised $1.6 Million to provide our student-athletes the stadium facility they deserve. The board of education has hired an architect and construction will proceed this winter following the public bidding process. We are grateful for every single donor and advocate who helped to make this project a reality and who stepped up to show your support for One Rocket Nation.
Thank You
Welcome to Home of the Rockets — a capital campaign dedicated to the construction of a 4,000+ square foot, multifunctional building and fan plaza at the south end of Bay High stadium. This new space will aesthetically enhance the property, create a gathering place for fans, and inspire pride in our students, teams, and community.
Home of the Rockets will include:
-
Home Team Room
-
Visitor Team Room
-
Concession Stand & Storage
-
Fan Plaza
-
Spiritwear Shop
-
Coaches Rooms
-
Restroom Facilities
-
Additional Storage and Mechanical Rooms
ONE ROCKET NATION is a special place.
Every soccer, football, lacrosse, or track & field athlete knows why we need a new building with heated team rooms. Every band member and Rockette who has carried supplies to-and-from the school knows why we need on-site facilities. Every parent or spectator who has attended an event knows why we need new restrooms and concessions. And every BMS, Westerly, or Normandy student or parent knows that making Home of the Rockets a reality will positively impact all future BHS students and enhance our community for generations.
We are grateful to those who led the Field of Dreams campaign a decade ago and we’re proud to continue that tradition with this campaign. Our relentless pursuit of excellence in all aspects of our school and community makes us who we are. Help us honor this proud tradition by donating today.
