Community West Foundation Board Member Vicki B. Foster

Vicki B. Foster became a member of the Community West Foundation Board of Directors in 2016.

She previously served on the Community Engagement Committee but this year transitioned to help on the Grants Committee.

She also leads Community West’s Partners Group which engages board members spouses in site visits to grantee agencies to learn more about their programs and services.

Ms. Foster earned a Nursing Degree at St. Luke’s Hospital where she went on to work as a cardiac nurse. Soon after she pursued a Bachelor of Science in Biology from John Carroll University.

While working as head nurse in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Cleveland Clinic, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Notre Dame College in a special weekend program for working women. That was followed by a Master of Business Administration from Baldwin Wallace College.

As a registered nurse with an MBA, she was one of the first women to become a Physician Practice Administrator at Cleveland Clinic.

Ms. Foster has held various leadership roles in the healthcare industry throughout her career including Executive Director of Orthopedics at University Hospital and Chief Operating Officer at Centers for Dialysis Care. She also did healthcare consulting before retiring in 2016.

Ms. Foster’s other community involvement include her church, Rocky River United Methodist. She was Chairman of the Board of Trustees for 6 years, and is now the Shawl Ministry Leader. The group knits shawls, baby blankets, scarves and prayer patches for those in need or to celebrate special occasions.

She previously served on the boards of Rocky River Parks and Recreation and Meals on Wheels. She is also a member, and former President, of the Rotary Club of Lakewood and Rocky River.

Ms. Foster and her husband, Bob, live in Rocky River. They have one son, John, a Cleveland Police Detective, and one grandson named James. They are longtime members of Edgewater Yacht Club and enjoy traveling.
