Westlake Holiday Rewind

Many of the enriching programs offered by Westlake Community Services are made possible by the generous donations of local businesses, organizations and individuals! The Westlake Teachers Association recently made one such donation just in time for the holiday season!

Thank you to the Westlake Teachers Association who “adopted” Westlake senior programs and activities this year. They generously purchased items from the programming wish list, which included, among other things DVD sets of various programs and movies.

Nice job to Westlake High School staff and students who organized a donation drive and collected clothing for those in need just before Christmas. After two cruisers were full, the School Resource Officers delivered the donations to the Keating Center.

The Westlake City Police and Fire Departments teamed up to help out Westlake Community Services Department with their annual Adopt-A-Family/Adult food and gift distribution. Members assisted in loading the donated gifts and food into vehicles, and made many deliveries directly to homes in the community.

HOLIDAY FOOD DISTRIBUTION: Our partners from Tri-c Westshore Campus did a wonderful job helping to pack holiday baskets to be delivered to our homebound recipients! Among those pictured is current interim Campus President Janice Taylor Heard, Ph.D. Thank you so much for your help!

The Westlake Community Services Department provided gifts to 75 families this holiday season through its Adopt-a-Family program. “We would like to thank all of the volunteers, organizations, businesses and firefighters who helped with our Adopt-A-Family program this year! Our Youth Coordinator Mary Bodmann Kalassay led the project through which Westlake residents adopted 75 families who all received carefully packed gift baskets for the holiday season!” – Lydia Gadd, Community Services Director
