On Sunday, April 3rd, Bishop Malesic of the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland blessed the Homeless Jesus statue at St. Malachi Parish just before 10 a.m. mass. Community West Foundation staff, board members and their families attended the service and enjoyed a warm welcome by the congregation.
Fr. Gurnick, Parish Administrator at St. Malachi’s, expressed his gratitude to Community West Foundation for selecting their parish as the permanent home for the statue. Marty Uhle also gave brief remarks acknowledging David and Martha Hessler for introducing the foundation to the works of Timothy Schmalz. The blessing ceremony was uplifting and focused on the true meaning represented in the artwork of helping the least of our brothers and sisters in need.
