An Art-Filled August

When the Community of Fine Arts (COFA) opens at Westlake Porter Public Library, art works and art demonstrations will be easily accessible to the Westshore public for 27 of August’s 31 days. Beginning August 1, the Westlake-Westshore Arts Council presents the 21st COFA, a juried art show.

Sixty-eight works of art by 30 artists, amateur/semiprofessional and professional will be judged by professional artists. These works will be on exhibit in Porter Library August 1 through Saturday, August 27, when an awards ceremony, open to the public, will take place at 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the library’s Porter Room.

Professional artists will offer free demonstrations of their art techniques in Porter Library’s lobby on Saturdays August 6, 13 and 20 from 1 to 5 pm.

The professional artists, who will judge the 2022 COFA show, are Joyce Bolte, Sharlene Pearl Green and Stuart Pearl.
