Avon Branch Library Expansion to Open Sept. 6

The southern expansion of the Avon Branch is set to open to the public on Tuesday, Sept. 6. This new building is home to the highly-anticipated interactive children’s area, including the new Kathy Petersen Story Time Room, the Teen Space and the most requested portion of the renovation – the drive thru window.

In preparation, the Avon Branch will be closed from Monday, Aug. 22 through Monday, Sept. 5 so staff can move all the books and shelves from the old building to the new. The hold lockers and return bins will not be accessible during this time. However, the North Ridgeville and Domonkas branches are very close, and will both be open regular hours (except Monday, Sept. 5 when all branches are closed in observance of Labor Day). The eLibrary is open 24/7 and the Books by Mail program will continue.

The new portion of the building will open on Tuesday, Sept. 6. At this time, the existing library building will close for its segment of the renovation, which will include the Create Space, the Norton Family Foundation Demonstration Kitchen, eSports Lounge and a large meeting room.
