Manning Announces Over $145,200 for Lorain Community College

The Funds for the College will be From the Campus Safety Grant Program

State Rep. Gayle Manning (R-North Ridgeville) announces $145,200 has been awarded to Lorain Community College through the Campus Safety Grant Program, which was approved by the State Controlling Board on Monday. Manning supported the funding through legislation at the Statehouse.

“As a former educator, I take the safety and security of both children and young adults on campuses very seriously,” Manning said. “It is my hope that this new funding for the program will deliver enhanced security for our local higher education facilities.”

The funding for these initiatives comes from House Bill 687, which Manning cosponsored and supported on the House floor.

The Campus Safety Grant Program was established to make grants to state institutions of higher education for eligible security improvements that assist in improving the overall physical security and safety of buildings on public campuses throughout Ohio.

The next State Controlling Board meeting is scheduled for Dec. 12.
