Normandy Senior Living: Pysanky Egg Decorating

The residents at The Normandy Senior Living enjoyed the first phase of Pysanky egg decorating at the Saturday ‘Art with Rebecka’ class. They are using warm wax drawn on the eggshell to create their designs. The second phase, of adding color, will be done next Saturday by the residents.

Pysanky is a traditional craft in the Ukraine and Poland. The method is similar to batik – patterns are drawn on the egg with wax, which protects the covered areas from the dye that is applied.

Everyone had an egg-cellent time crafting!
