Make Music Day is a one-day event where free, live musical performances, opportunities to make music and other musical events take place around the world on the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. Musical festivities in Avon Lake are part of a global celebration of music making in over 1,000 cities inspired by France’s Fête de la Musique.
Make Music Day Avon Lake invites community members of all ages, creeds, and musical persuasions the chance to experience the joy of making music together, while serving the community. This year’s activities will take place on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 from 3:00 pm – 10:00 pm at Avon Lake High School, Veterans Memorial Park, as well as an Open Mic at The Dogg House Bar & Grill. Featured musical performances include the Rock Academy, Billy Coakley Drum Along, John Kerver & Carol Haines Kids’ Sing-Along, The Avon Lake High School Merples, One-Eyed Fred, The Randos, Ri Rosecrans Music, Ukulele Strum-Along, and more! Special thanks to Sprenger Health Care and the Avon Lake City School District for their support with this event.
New to the Make Music Day festivities is the Avon Lake Star Party. Join local astronomer, Suzie Dills, at 9:00 at Veterans Memorial Park and hunt for shooting stars, look for the man in the moon, Venus, Mars and much more!
